Legal Action Against the Export of F-35 Parts

30 augustus 2024

PAX, Oxfam Novib, and The Rights Forum have jointly brought legal proceedings against the Dutch state over the export of Dutch-made parts for F-35 fighter aircraft to Israel. They are appealing the recent court ruling and are calling on people to sign their petition calling for an end to the violence. Until a court rules otherwise, the export of F-35 parts to Israel is prohibited. However, because there are concerns that these parts may still reach Israel through indirect routes, the organisations have initiated new preliminary injunction proceedings. On 12 July, the court ruled, based on an earlier judgment, that it could not rule on the indirect supply of F-35 parts. An appeal against this ruling is now being lodged.

PAX, Oxfam Novib, and The Rights Forum remain determined to hold the Dutch state to its international obligations. Although the legal battle is not yet over, following the ruling by the Court of Appeal in The Hague, the Dutch state decided to appeal to the Supreme Court. The next stage of this legal battle is scheduled for September.
