PAX: Military Treaty Between the Netherlands and Israel – A Cause for Concern?

Despite the devastating war in Gaza, which has claimed more than 47,000 lives and displaced almost the entire population, our network partner PAX reports that the Netherlands is continuing military cooperation with Israel and plans to sign a defence agreement. This decision raises serious concerns about potential human rights violations, with international organisations accusing Israel of war crimes and genocide.
The agreement, known as the Status of Forces Agreement (SOFA), would facilitate military cooperation, including knowledge exchange, arms trade, and joint exercises. Critics argue that this supports an occupying power and undermines international law.
