Institute for Eastern Christian Studies (IvOC): Scientific Research into Eastern Christianity
1 maart 2025
One of our members, the Institute for Eastern Christian Studies (IvOC), is dedicated to the academic study of Eastern Christianity. They provide professional consultations, conduct research, teach students, and provide valuable resources, including the Journal of Eastern Christian Studies and the Eastern Christianity platform.
IvOC advises on important issues such as the migration of Eastern Christians to the Netherlands, the role of Eastern Christianity in the Russia-Ukraine conflict, and the particular position of Christianity in the Middle East and Africa. They also offer expertise on icons, Orthodox traditions, and research projects related to Eastern Christianity.
The Eastern Christianity platform is a unique resource within the Dutch-speaking region and provides practical information about Eastern Christianity in Dutch and Flemish society. The platform contains announcements of lectures, courses, and events, and offers in-depth background stories, interviews, and articles about spiritual life and current issues within Eastern religious communities.
