Honouring Fallen Journalists: Memorial Unveiled at World Press Photo Exhibition
1 juli 2025
As part of the World Press Photo Exhibition 2025 at De Nieuwe Kerk in Amsterdam, a moving new installation now commemorates over 1,600 journalists who have been killed in connection with their work since 1992.
The Memorial for Journalists was developed by Free Press Unlimited, a member of the Anna Lindh Foundation NL Network, to honour the bravery and sacrifice of media professionals who lost their lives defending press freedom and the public’s right to information.
This powerful tribute stands as both a reminder of the dangers faced by journalists worldwide and a call to protect the fundamental values of free expression and independent media.
🗓️ The exhibition runs until 21 September 2025.
