Laying the Groundwork for a Euro-Mediterranean University Network

At the ALForum 2025 in Tirana, the Dutch Network of the Anna Lindh Foundation contributed to the dialogue on intercultural cooperation through a dedicated panel session titled “Uniting Cultures: Dialogue Across Borders with the ALF.” The session was co-hosted by Kees Hulsman and Romana Moussa, and introduced a vision for a Euro-Mediterranean University Network.
The proposed network aims to strengthen collaboration between universities and civil society in the fields of media literacy, education, research, and the fight against disinformation. The concept was met with enthusiasm not only during the panel but also in a follow-up strategy meeting with stakeholders from academia and civil society across the Euro-Mediterranean region.
As a next step, an online follow-up meeting will be held on 7 July 2025 to further shape the initiative and define practical steps toward implementation.
