Het evenement, met als thema \u201cMedia: een reddingslijn in tijden van conflict\u201d, ging over de cruciale rol van de media in crisisgebieden en de gevaren waarmee journalisten te maken hebben. In paneldiscussies met internationale journalisten en experts werden de uitdagingen van verslaggeving vanuit conflictgebieden belicht en werd besproken hoe de internationale gemeenschap bedreigde mediaorganisaties kan steunen.<\/p>\n<p data-start=\"1843\" data-end=\"2397\">De situatie in Palestina stond centraal; daar werden dit jaar recordaantallen journalisten gedood. Free Press Unlimited meldt dat er minstens 128 journalisten zijn gedood, terwijl het Palestijnse Journalistensyndicaat zelfs 167 meldt. Velen waren duidelijk herkenbaar als pers, wat erop wijst dat ze mogelijk bewust zijn geviseerd. De organisatie vraagt dringend internationale aandacht voor hun bescherming en is een petitie gestart voor een veilige doorgang en medische hulp voor gewonde journalisten in Gaza.<\/p>\n<p data-start=\"2399\" data-end=\"2542\" data-is-last-node=\"\" data-is-only-node=\"\">Tijdens het evenement werden ook de Free Press Awards uitgereikt, waaronder prijzen voor \u2018Nieuwkomer van het Jaar\u2019 en \u2018Meest Veerkrachtige Journalist\u2019.<\/p>","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>2 november 2024 &nbsp; On 21 October, Free Press Live 2024 took place in The Hague, organised by Free Press Unlimited.
