Stories from Home: Knowledge Sharing through Storytelling

What does home mean to you? Whose stories are heard—and how can those stories inspire change?

On Saturday 31 October, GREAT The Hague (Grassroots Renewable Energy Advocate Team) is organising Stories from Home – Diaspora Voices & Inclusion Day, bringing together diaspora and Dutch youth for storytelling, cultural exchange, creative workshops and dialogue.

Young people from Nigerian, Somali and Ethiopian backgrounds will share experiences and explore belonging, cultural heritage, migration, stereotypes and meaningful participation. Together, participants will turn stories into practical ideas for more inclusive communities and climate adaptation.

Kees Hulsman, head of the Dutch network of the Anna Lindh Foundation, will give a 15-minute talk on the importance of youth participation and dialogue in climate adaptation. He will then moderate panel discussions with young people and women about why their voices matter and how they can help shape decisions affecting their communities.
