Member Spotlight: Sufi Trail’s Wandelkaravaan 2026 – A Journey of Culture, Reflection, and Connection

One of our valued network members, Sufi Trail, has opened registration for the eagerly awaited Wandelkaravaan 2026 — a unique pilgrimage adventure through the heart of Turkey.
Participants are invited to walk 800 km from Istanbul to Konya, experiencing Turkey’s landscapes, history, and culture in a deeply personal and communal way. But this is far more than a traditional hike — it’s a soul-stirring, humor-filled journey, guided by the wisdom of Sufism and the spirit of connection.
What Makes the Wandelkaravaan Special?
Throughout the trek, participants will encounter:
- Tea with locals, offering authentic cultural exchange and storytelling.
- Stray dogs as loyal guides, who often join walkers along the route.
- Philosophical detours, inspired by Sufi teachings and reflective moments.
- The occasional existential crisis (and fries!), reminding participants that humor and humanity are part of every journey.
This journey is designed to bring intercultural dialogue to life one step at a time, blending heritage, hospitality, and shared experiences into a transformative adventure. Walkers not only explore the physical landscape of Turkey, but also engage deeply with local communities and fellow participants from around the world.
