The Resistance Within Me – Son of a Resistance Fighter
A theatrical, spoken and danced performance by Feri de Geus
“How can you free yourself from a war that had already ended before you were born?”
As part of Theater Na de Dam in Rotterdam, Feri de Geus of Grand Cru Global, also a member of the Dutch Anna Lindh Foundation Network, will perform his powerful and personal production “The Resistance Within Me” from May 2 to 5 at a historic location: the police station on Haagse Veer in Rotterdam. It was precisely there that his father played a leading role in one of the most daring resistance actions in Dutch history in 1944 — the liberation of 43 prisoners during the Second World War.
In this personal exploration of his father’s resistance history — a man who rarely spoke about it — Feri examines the impact of an inherited history. How do you live with the story of a hero who never wanted to be seen as one?
🎭 The Resistance Within Me is an intimate, physical, and emotional performance in which dance, text, and silence come together. Particularly remarkable is that the Rotterdam police are welcoming the performance into their own premises, as a reflection on a past in which the institution itself was divided by war and difficult choices.

Feri is supported in this performance by his daughter Khoroi, who adds another layer to the story as a youthful conscience and prompter. This creates a special interplay between generations, memory, and imagination.
