Free Press Unlimited: An Organisation Committed to Protecting Press Freedom

Free Press Unlimited works worldwide to promote and protect press freedom, with a strong focus on the safety of journalists in conflict zones. The organisation emphasises the importance of independent journalism for transparency, accountability, and justice, particularly during humanitarian crises and wars.
The organisation has worked with local groups in areas where press freedom is under pressure, helping them build resilience. Free Press Unlimited also advocates for the safety of journalists and draws attention to targeted attacks and government censorship.
In Gaza, Free Press Unlimited has worked to ensure that journalists have access to the resources and protection they need. The organisation supports efforts to lift Israel’s ban on independent reporting and is part of a coalition of more than 60 organisations calling for unhindered access to Gaza. The organisation also calls for independent investigations into the killings of journalists, with at least 166 journalists having been killed since October 2023.
In addition to protection on the front lines, Free Press Unlimited focuses on strengthening the capacities of journalists and media organisations, thereby promoting long-term resilience in areas where press freedom is under severe pressure.
